Manhattan Jury Awards $540,000 to Lipsig client struck by “Hit and Run” vehicle
Attorney Duane Morgan from the Lipsig Law firm won the case for our client, Ms. H. today when he successfully convinced the jury to award $540,000 to our client.
The injury occurred when the Lipsig law firm’s client was injured as the side mirror of a pick-up truck hit her left hand. The vehicle then fled the scene. After a full investigation, the Lipsig law firm continued to fight for our client and pursued a case against a New York State agency established to pay damages to victims of hit-and-run accidents. The agency refused to settle the case so the Lipsig firm took the case to court and a jury trial.
The Lipsig Law firm client, Ms. H., suffered a non-displaced fracture of her left wrist requiring a hard cast for one month. As a result of overusing the other hand while her left wrist was immobilized, she developed carpal tunnel syndrome which required surgery about 2 years after the accident.
There a full trial with our doctor testifying about his care and treatment of Ms. H. The defense called a radiologist to testify against our client.
The jury took just over an hour to return a verdict in favor of the plaintiff for $540,000 that includes $500,000 for her pain and suffering and $ 40,000 for her future medical case.
