Complete MoisturePlus Recall Lawyer

Complete Moistureplus Lawyer New York City If the Complete MoisturePlus Recall affects you, call the Lipsig Law firm for help if you or a family member have had problems or injuries from your use of Complete MoisturePlus contact lens solution.

Complete MoisturePlus is a Multipurpose or all-in-one contact lens care solution designed to clean, maintain, and disinfect soft contact lenses.

This contact lens care product is manufactured by Advanced Medical Optics, Inc., a company that is located in California.

On May 25, 2007, Complete MoisturePlus was voluntarily withdrawn from the United States market after the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) released the results of an epidemiological study showing that Complete. MoisturePlus users were 7 times more likely to develop sight-threatening ocular infections caused by microorganisms called acanthamoeba.

It appears that multipurpose contact lens solutions are ineffective at killing acanthamoeba, much less so than hydrogen peroxide-based solutions.

The most recent estimates are that several hundred American contact lens wearers, perhaps more, developed acanthamoeba infections over the past five years which could have and should have been prevented by effective lens disinfection.

AK can be hard to diagnose and difficult to effectively treat. A large number of those infected require surgical intervention, including corneal transplant. Vision loss is common.
